Total disgrace. I agree with Muttley. DOC should never let management trample all over them or let this go to meeting without at least a no vote choice. They are just just management poodles who yap but never achieve anything. They should be ashamed because nothing has been gained except for a price increase and a extra route that doesn't work. I am frightened what it will be like when these guys have real control of the money as incorporated owners. Is it true all the other phases have to subsidize P1 bus routes because it's more expensive per passenger and they won't pay the differance

Poodles are obedient intelligent animals and would be upset by the comparison  Wink

Another failure by the DOC to show any ability to represent the owners... I thought the lift maintanance contract awarding was shocking and to add a 3 year agreement to increase the price of our comuter bus service... they must be wired wrong if they think last night was a success...

The Man Office of the MTR must think we are a right bunch of twits...

O well at least my old mate Mutley had a good chuckle... I look forward to the new special bus service that we can take our Dogs on...

I guess the next logical development is that shortly after the dog bus is provided we can have a bus service for each tower individually; that will be another supreme way to waste money...

I have never known such a wasteful and corrupt estate management experience; I think owners in the rest of HK face frustration but this place takes the biscuit!

In the end does this become an issue that prompts one to want to move elsewhere?  It is slowly getting that way I fear; move on and leave it all behind, like lucky Poppet!

I have long since given up worrying about paying for everybody & his dog (literally) but I just get fed up with the sheer naivety and incompetance of those in power. When I moved here there was no DOC and MO ran it as a thiefdom. Unfortunately nothing much has changed as the DOC bicker and achieve nothing whilst the MO smile and carry business on as usual.

I foolishly thought it would all be different when we had a DOC who could rein them in. The adage "Little thieves are hung by the neck and great thieves by the purse" might work just work. I have never been the sharpest knife in the draw and how wrong I was. Sadly any voluntary unpaid position with an element of power seems to attract certain strange characters.

1. Those capable who have a unselfish desire to administer for those who elected them (fluffy and nice but rare people)
2. Well intentioned but out of their depth and with time on their hands. (Sweet people who cannot say yes or no unless directed)
2. Narcissistic personalities who crave attention and power they cannot achieve in the real world (very sad people frequently with sexual inadequacy issues)
3. Egocentric personalities who seek the position of power for selfish and corrupt purposes.(naughty people with whom you have to check your fingers after shaking hands)

You can make your own minds up what types we have on our DOC. Nobody to blame but ourselves as we elected these muppets but next time round we should have a clean sweep and also stop this buddy/buddy co-opting crap that just perpetuates the regime.

Now the DOC and MO have decided that the buses are to be free Huh, can the rest of us who don't use the bus have a few freebies as well? Free gym, swimming pool, clubhouse facilities and ice creams on hot days would be nice. After all User pays are dirty words around here nowadays. Don't worry about the cost as the management fees will be going up anyway and the ice creams will be restricted to one per person daily. N.B. MO staff to get free one after 10 are handed out to keep accounting simple.

Following Sir Jeff the Peoples Protecter's advice and looking on the bright side, this might not be as bad as it seems Wink. I can have up to 12 resident bus passes so I wonder how much they will worth on the street when the new estates open around the corner. Better lay on some more buses Grin

Muttly me old mate... yes if it is legal to rent an apartment or a room in an apartment to someone it must also be legal to rent them your car park and to take it too its logical conclusion it must also be alright to rent them you residents card so people can use the Bus. I have a combined unit so I should be able to rent about 12 bus passes...

Way cool... how much do you think we can rent them for? Perhaps HK$100 per month?

I am with Muttley, I think it is incumbent on us all to take as much advantage as possible out of what is presented to us and is made available.  Free air-con and wifi, are easy starters.  Sit in the perishingly cold lobby to read is a good one too.

Poppet is also correct; if I read all these comments I would feel the same way.  I just vainly hope that this estate is just typical and not simply the main money spinner for MTR.

Can we lobby for free ice-creams on Sundays?

Lastly, I suppose to save some anxiety, it would be best just to shrug the shoulders, not worry about all this stuff and just enjoy...  Life is, after all, too short.

agree, we need an united DOC who speaks for us, but now it is divided and some of them are actually MTX fans that stop the good guys from good performance.

If you attend most meetings, you can see that PH 1 and 3 OCs are hard-working and doing their best with big limitation and no functional power given when some other OCs don't come to meeting, don't discuss issues, but collect a lot proxy to influence many results, etc.

As mentioned in the EGM proposed by OC 1 and OC3, we would like to keep following the bus issues by forcing MO to issue estate-wide survey about whether we need route 3/C, and if we can use user-pay system. Please support the good guys and replace the bad/non-performing guys next time. thx.

Taking that survey just wastes time and more money; it is the usual sort of MO smokescreen to look like there is some sort of positive activity when in fact it is the opposite.

Suggest everyone just gets a life and moves on.

we still move on, and meanwhile also do something to improve their decision-making system, doing a survey won't cost much, and MO refused to do it before, I hope they listen to our voice and do a estate-wide survey to hear our voice on route 3/c and user pay plan, owners also help to make our DOC united, to be a good DOC, and then DOC together with us residents work together to change the way this estate runs now. thanks.

Or route 1? Or can't they walk like everybody else? Phase 1 bus stop no farther than route 3 from route 2 bus stop. Are Phase 1 willing to pay the extra for their own stop? You know these nice guys you keep talking about.

Chill Keyser! I am so laid back now I am horizontal. I now don't even notice the hole in the gym roof that's been there for a week anymore.

Tension achieves nothing. Relax and adopt a pack of stray dogs or something.

I'd like to take it one step further... I want to rob the MO blind at every opportunity.  However, I have no idea what they actually own, so need some advice on what kind of MTR-owned booty might make for pleasant and effective thievery.  I've already got an outstanding interest fee on my account balance for about four months now (thanks for nothing February) and I have a little giggle every time I ignore it and make out the check for the usual amount.  Which makes me wonder, how big can my outstanding balance be before they come knocking at my door?

I've also thought that if they raise the management fee, and I just continue to pay the old one, will they throw me in MTR prison (mind the gap when stepping in and out of your cell)

Also Jeff - when is the ICAC coming?  And what's with MTX... are they watching this site?  If so that makes for one more good reason to tell everyone about how much they suck.

As an owner you paid deposits etc to cover this stuff if/when you sell all monies owed will be recovered before the sale can go forward, in the meantime i doubt they would dare come knocking at your door so just enjoy.
