Hi my friends, I need your support in standing on the same side with me and owners. Please come to the EGM on 25/3 and vote "retendering" option, it doesn't affact the current bus service but give time to improve and provide a fairer terms for this tendering. The current terms and conditions discourage real compeiton by limiting middle size companies from joining the competition. The current terms and conditions make price high with unneccassry requirements. e.g. provide coin machine while we all using cards, provide tv in bus when we only takes 5 mins home, provide fence at bus stop when it is not our private land, provide europe 4 bus when only KMB and Citibus only imported it last year, how can our bus company compares to the biggest public bus companis in HK? all these terms limit compeition and drive up prices. ALL THESE RESULTS IN ONLY 2 COMPANIES TO BET OUR 30 MILLIONS DOLLAR BILL (unreasonably small competition for such a big contract) and crazy price that is about 70% higher than the current price.

I hereby demand a retendering with better and fair terms to allow real competition and real market price, and I look for your support in all EGM in the future for a better CC. Thanks.

THX to the great support from owners, 98.5% voted retendering.

Although I am not a member of any OC/DOC, I will still try to monitor MTR/MO to ensure fair terms, and enhance greater competitiveness for better and real "market price". Thanks.

Jeff why don't they let DOC reps work with MO to directly engage the vendors for all the tendering?  That way DOC can act as watchdogs to those in whose best interest it is to prepare the requirements.

from my understanding, half the DOC are working very hard for owners and monitoring MO, especially the ph 1 and 3 OC, but still half of the rest DOC reps may have different views, so now the DOC is not too functional that even doesn't have a chairman. If the DOC of CC can be similar to the DOC of SVC that we all wholeheartedly help owners, we could have reduced management fee and gain a lot surplus, but here in CC, we nearly had mangement fee increases to $1.6 last night, MO has fans in DOC so MO always use their half support in DOC to claim owners' support for their bad policies. They even used dirty tricks to target the good members, so we all as normal owners should also pay attention and monitor the MO too. Owners please be united to support the good OC and boycott the bad guys, we should stand to the front not just before the management fee increase, but always stand for our rights all the time. If we all could do well before, we won't have last night's abnormal meeting to reject the 70% more expensive bus bill and increase of management fee proposal created by MO and thier fans. Thanks.

Question Jeff... you warned to be careful about giving proxy.  For example I live in Phase 1 and because we were not able to attend the EGM, my wife signed proxy to - I suppose - the default proxy taker.  But I would like to know who are we actually granting proxy to, and what are the dangers?  Is there an "official" proxy person for each Phase?

Hi my friends, from my understanding, Phase 1 and 3 OCs are good people who also work for owners. However, I don't want to comment other OCs. Good luck there.

I highly suggest everyone to attend the meetings, but if really can't make it, please only proxy to those you can really trust, family members, friends, good OCs, or someone you know who is working for owners is also fine. However, please don't give to who the MO always recommand, don't give to those who betrayed owners, from past meeting, there were several active people in CC helped MTR to defend THEIR rights so that's damaged OUR rights. I have named them before in this forum.

Please NEVER sign a blank empty proxy, must write down a name you trust, otherwise THEY will write down one of THEIR names on YOUR proxy to vote for THEIR interest but not OUR interest, which I highly doubt that it happened before cos CC always vote for the expensive tenders with poor services..............., making our financial situation horrible now, we are the biggest estate but have the less surplus among the 4 private estates, we nearly had our management fee increased to $1.6 in last EGM when we nearly used up all surplus, thx to the MTR fans who suggested their dear bills.

For estate matters, please seek independent source of information and comments. Please never trust someone always sitting in lobbies when voting or election, there is a group of bad people who never really work for owners but during voting or election period, they will come out to sit at lobbies to bad mouth the good guys, please always trust your own eyes and objective results, you will know who are our friends, who are MTR's friends. Proxy should only be given to owners' friends. Thanks and good luck to us.

Jeff,
You better make sure you take breaks regularly. Continuous work for 1 week is just silly and an invitation to fever.

Get well soon!

Thx W_tB, I am fine now, actually I went to host the DOC meeting of SVC at 930am on Monday and today I drafted 1 DOC notices and 1 newsletter there too. I hope one day MTR management can do much better, so we don't have to worry so much and work so much to improve their bad jobs, and I also hope one day that more and more owners aware of their rights and join us, so I can work less and rest more. Thx again W_tB, and good luck to our estate.

after the EGM and great support from owners with 98.5% voted retendering, it shows the poor management and purchasing skill of our management office. Now the good guys are working for the estate. After declaring there is no personal interest, PH 1 nad PH 3 OCs has introduced over 10 bus companies to MO, plus the market available ones, MO has sent over 30 invitation letters to about 30 bus companies, we hope to bring in more competition for estate tendering so we can achieve real market price. Let's work together for CC, reduce contract price, enahnce competition together with competitive quality. Thanks.
