What do people think about the seemingly ever present clear skies, providing views across to Macao / Zuhai and up the Pearl River Delta? I don't recall if being like this so often before and as I say these days seem to be increasing in numbers.
Makes living in Tung Chung even more delightful.

I'm sure the government would tell you it's down to their heroic efforts on cleaning up air pollution in Hong Kong as well as their ongoing dialouge with the PRD municpal governments.... others may say that it's just down to the fact that the winds blow in from the sea at this time of year, rather than down from the north and hence don't carry as much factory emissions with them.....
But, however why it's happening, it's actually making it a joy to have a seaview again as for an end it seemed to be nothing more than a grey or white monotone landscape to look at.....
Long may it last!

Lived in TC for 5 years now and this is pretty much how it's been at this time of year since we moved here, it's nothing to do with the government, it will change again later in the year so enjoy it while it's so beautiful.

are you sure you're looking at macau/zhuhai? that should be on our left, with some cable car hills blocking the view. From here I (think I) look at the deep bay link to Shenzhen (on a good day)

Yeah I think its Zuhai, I am in phase 1 so we look left, so to speak.
I know none of this is anything to do with the government, I was rather hoping it was just good natural progress. Certainly, the rest of Hong Kong doesn't get this benefit because I really don't recall such large numbers of days with lovely clear skies. Noted from the 'old hands' here that this is more seasonal ... fingers crossed that seasonal becomes normal.

Yes I think that this is a good time to be in Hong Kong, but I hope the HK Gov will start to do more to make this the norm! I went out to the park the other night and I am sure I could see the Southern Cross!

Bye bye sunny skies.... could our summer be over and already heading into a smoggy and hot autumn.......
Mind you, if we get lightning shows like we got tonight, I'm fine with that! Absolutely cracking tonight, if you pardon the pun.
